Deviated septum

Is a condition in which the nasal septum -- the bone and cartilage that divide the nasal cavity of the nose in half -- is significantly off center, or crooked, making breathing difficult.

Symptoms:

  • Difficulty breathing through the nose.
  • Nasal congestion, usually one side more than the other.
  • Recurrent sinus infections.
  • Nosebleeds.
  • Sleep problems, such as contributing to loud snoring or sleep apnea.
  • Headache postnasal drip.
