Diabetes insipidus (DI)

Is a condition characterized by excessive thirst and excretion of large amounts of severely dilute urine, with reduction of fluid intake having no effect on the concentration of the urine.

Symptoms:

  • Extreme thirst that can't be quenched (polydipsia)
  • Excessive amounts of urine (polyuria)
  • Colourless urine instead of pale yellow.
  • Waking frequently through the night to urinate.
  • Dry skin.
  • Constipation.
  • Weak muscles.
  • Bedwetting.
