Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Is an enlarged prostate gland . The prostate gland surrounds the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body. As the prostate gets bigger, it may squeeze or partly block the urethra.

Symptoms:

  • Frequent or urgent need to urinate.
  • Increased frequency of urination at night (nocturia)
  • Difficulty starting urination.
  • Weak urine stream or a stream that stops and starts.
  • Dribbling at the end of urination.
  • Straining while urinating.
  • Inability to completely empty the bladder.
