International Children's Day

The first of June marks The International Children's Day. This is one of the oldest international holidays, it has been celebrated all over the world since the 1950s. The decision to hold it was adopted by the International Democratic Women's Federation at a special session held in November 1949. The UN supported this initiative and announced the protection of children's rights, their life and health as the most important aims in this movement.
